What do I think of the Designing and Implementing API Systems course from apimasters with Mike Amundsen

In today’s interconnected digital world, APIs those quiet enablers of data exchange power everything from your favorite apps to complex enterprise systems. Yet for many professionals APIs still feel like a black box technical, mysterious and not something they need to “understand” to do their job.

That’s where this API Learning Path with Mike Amundsen comes in. It’s a 2.5 hour self paced course that doesn’t just teach you how to build APIs it teaches you how to think about them.

What I have learned is that API is now a Product 🙂

And no you don’t need to be a backend wizard or know the inside and out of REST to get value from it. If you have experience working with web applications and are comfortable with a bit of code this course will open up a new way of looking at how systems communicate.

My Thoughts

You won’t learn how to code in this course and that’s exactly the point.
What you will learn is how to think around APIs how they’re designed, managed, evolved, and how they fit into the bigger picture of system architecture and business strategy. That was a real eye-opener for me.
